Went up to the fennel patch on Mt Albert this morning after the Silvereyes that feed there first thing in the morning. Caught a Dunnock when I had the first net half up which in the dark took a while to extract. Then by the time I had finished getting that net up and had processed the Dunnock the Silvereyes had arrived.

They kept me busy for the next hour delaying getting a second net up. Between 7.30 and 9 when the sun came onto the nets and the birds disappeared I caught 36 Silvereyes with 35 new but only 1 recapture. As well as the Dunnock also caught 1 Grey Warbler.
